LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION:
Owatonna is located in Southeast Minnesota, approximately 65 miles south of Minneapolis on Interstate 35.
 
CURRICULUM:
Owatonna High School follows a block schedule (4 period day).  Each day consists of 4 classes of 85 minutes.  0.5 credit is obtained in one quarter; 1 credit is obtained in two quarters.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Graduation Requirements are:  Complete 28 credits; complete the MCA II tests in Reading, Writing and Mathematics; and complete the ACT assessment or comparable standardized academic assessment (ACT score below includes all juniors).
 
Minimum coursework required for graduation includes:
 
English (4.5 credits):

1 credit - English 10
1 credit - American Lit
1 credit- Composition
.5 English Elective

Science (3 credits):
1 credit - Physical Science or General Science
1 credit - Biology
1 credit - Physics or Chemistry
