This scholarship has been established as a memorial to long-time Little Theatre of Owatonna member, Sarah Foreman, who died in February 2006.  This scholarship is meant to recognize and support the post-secondary education of a local person whose studies and/or participation in theatre distinguish him/her.  Recipients will be chosen based on theatre involvement including LTO, two letters of recommendation, academic achievements and educational goals, and college and/or community involved beside theatre.

FEDERATED CHALLENGE SCHOLARSHIP ($5,000)

Thanks to the generosity of Federated Insurance and the Federated Challenge we are offering a scholarship for up to $5,000 for students to attend a non-four year education or training program at an accredited Minnesota postsecondary school that focuses on obtaining an apprenticeship, certificate or associate’s degree.  Candidates need to have been mentored by Big Brothers Big Sisters for a minimum of 18 months, or was a High School Big for a minimum of 18 months and is planning to enroll part-time or full-time in a non-four year program at a trade, technical or community college or another accredited Minnesota postsecondary school to obtain an apprenticeship, certificate or associate's degree.

TYLER HARLICKER SCHOLARSHIP (1 or more - $1,000)

Tyler Harlicker was diagnosed with B-precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on December 1st, 2009.  Tyler underwent months of treatment while struggling to fight this disease.  Throughout his journey, Tyler continued to teach others what it meant to have courage and perseverance, passion and grace, humor and love.  Tyler had a great zest for life and, even on his darkest days, Tyler thought more about others than he thought of himself.  Tyler had wisdom beyond his years and was determined to leave this world a better place than when he found it.  Unfortunately, he lost his battle and passed away in March of 2011.  Tyler led his life on a few basic principles; showed compassion to others, lived with courage, loved endlessly, gave from the heart and made a difference in the world!  Recipients must be an Owatonna High School Senior attending a 2 or 4 year college.

The intended recipient of a Hagan Scholarship is a high achieving and self-motivated student, who aspires to obtain a four-year college education in order to realize his or her full potential.

Summer Seminar at the United States Air Force Academy offers a unique opportunity for high school students completing their Junior year to experience the Air Force Academy first-hand!

During Summer Seminar, attendees will live in Cadet dormitories, eat in the Cadet dining facility, explore academic majors offered at the Air Force Academy, participate in physical fitness activities, experience a "military training day", and learn about the application process to compete for an appointment to the Air Force Academy.
